Equestrians
The Equestrian ponies are those who populate the lands of Equestria, be it earth, pegasi and unicorn ponies. These ponies
support the co-rule of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. Equestria is ruled by a monarchy which Celestia and Luna partake. They are worshipped for their work of bringing life, day and night to Equestria and have long supported the ponies establishing civilisation in Equestria. Now in these darker times, the ponies of Equestria unite under Princess Luna and Celestia's leadership as proud and noble loyalists. They are proud patriots of Equestria and will defend it at all costs from the new threat of Mistress Abyssal. Many ponies do as much as they can for Equestria while still living their ordinary lives, while under constant caution of the evil ponies and creatures that threaten Equestria. Some ponies may even join the military or local militia to protect their lands. Some ordinary ponies may even go on quests to ensure the interests of Equestria are protected. In these times, its universally agreed that all ponies now band together closer than ever.

Followers of Abyssal
These are the dark and evil ponies that roam around Equestria and serve under Mistress Abyssal in hopes that she will one day take over Equestria as the ruler. They are formed from the three different pony types: Earth, pegasi and unicorns. Followers of Abyssal are cruel and chaotic ponies scattered around Equestria. They remain in hidden and concealed places and do sometimes form their own civilisations such as small bases in hidden and concealed places, yet close to Equestrian civilisations. Most of the times they attack other Equestrian civilisations and perform deeds in attempts to take over or at least attempt to take over the towns and lands. Followers of Abyssal do not think twice about harming other ponies or performing the evil deeds in their efforts to rule the land for Abyssal. Any other pony caught up and captured are usually taken to a base and brainwashed into becoming followers themselves. These ponies also practice the use of forbidden magic, also known as curses, which involve necromancy, pain infliction and mind control. Despite being scattered, their main base of operations is the Midnight Fortress deep in southern Equestria.
Amongst the awakening of Mistress Abyssal, vamponies have also awoken too and form a large part in her private army. Vamponies are unique pony type creatures that were once former earth, pegasi or unicorn ponies. These ponies are corrupted by evil and now live to serve Abyssal, also being capable of spreading their affliction amongst other ponies. Mistress Abyssal is a vampony herself and is argued to be the first and original vampony. The vamponies today are what they are from being turned, which can be traced back all the way to Mistress Abyssal.
Mistress Abyssal is perhaps the evil enchantress Pinkie Pie warned you about. After thousands of years she has been awoken once more, filled with hatred and sinister evil. She has waged her own personal war against Equestria and plans to take it over in due time, turning it into her own evil kingdom. Amongst her ever growing vampony followers are normal sympathiser ponies. They can be users of forbidden magic, ponies who side with her for their own personal gain or for many other reasons even as mere as just having an evil heart.

Warlords of Equestria
The Warlords of Equestria consist of only a few individuals who are notorious criminals that ally themselves with Mistress Abyssal and the Followers of Abyssal. They do not necessariloy have to consist of ponies from Equestria, they can be any race and come from any kingdom. Although allying themselves with Abyssal and basically becoming privateer mercenaries, the Warlords are not part of her army! Technically, they do not have to care or respect the Followers of Abyssal or other Warlords, and are often considered by the followers to be no different from normal selfish ponies that want a part of Equestria for themselves. One thing is for sure, they are too considered enemies of Equestria.
They offer no opposition to Abyssal but are not guaranteed to follow her orders like her followers. The Warlords are mercenaries who do the best they can to cause trouble in Equestria and act as a symbol of intimidation to prevent Equestrians from opposing them or Abyssal. Some are ordered to take over towns/cities or protect bases, though their ultimate goal is to keep Equestria in check. Though in theory they commit all these acts for Abyssal, they are most likely to perform these acts to benefit themselves along the way; each Warlord essentially being their own small faction. In exchange for their services, they are pardoned from any attacks from Abyssa's followers and have a safe spot in territories under her control.
Requierments for a Warlord: A Warlord of Equestria is a special faction only for the evil aligned and most notorious criminals or chaos causers in Equestria or other kingdoms. As a result, only nine individuals may become Warlords of Equestria. Remember, Warlords may have sold their souls to Abyssal but they are no loyal subjects. They can do as they please and can be as disobedient as they feel, causing as much friction as they can. In theory, they are under Abyssal's collar though in practice, they can be a threat to even Abyssal herself. If these nine positions are filled, a character can only become a warlord if a spot becomes open; meaning one Warlord leaves or is kicked out. Only Mistress Abyssal can remove Warlords and select new notorious characters to become a Warlord.

Other Kingdoms
Not all ponies or other creatures will come from the land of Equestria. Surrounding Equestria, close and far, are the other kingdoms rules by other governing bodies. Many ponies or other creatures who do not live in Equestria, nor label themselves as its protector, fall under the faction of another third party kingdom. Like a Warlord, they can be free to do as they wish in the lands. Perhaps they are merely wanderers who quietly sit back and observe Equestria and its problems. Perhaps they simply live in their own kingdom under an oppressive and totalitarian regime? Maybe they are just sent to Equestria as intervening peace keepers? Depending on whatever kingdom and whatever personality these players have, their roles in the story is limitless. One particular kingdom that ally themselves with Equestria are the griffons, who support the rule of Princess Celestia and Luna. Not too many kingdoms are known about by the average Equestrian pony, though you are either with Equestria or neutral. As of now, it is evident that no kingdoms have reason to ever support the Followers of Abyssal any time soon.

Mostly for dragons or those who do not take sides. They are those who are neutral and do not involve themselves in the affairs of good or evil, magic or none, loyalty or chaos. These players merely stand in the margin and are the true free birds, refused to be ruled by anyone but themselves. True, a dragon is more likely to gather up gems and treasure before slumbering in his/her cave; than a wandering pony who is more likely to get caught up. It's not long until many players do get caught up into sides, even a dragon.
